Featured Friday: Pirate Themed Birthday Party

Ahoy Ye Mateys!

Come aboard and check out my new  Pirate Party!  I am so excited to share this with you.  I just love the way it turned out!  The Pirate Ship was ordered by one of our wonderful customers at our bakery, and became the inspiration for this party.  What an easy party to create on a budget!  All the printable items are available in my etsy shop.  Keep reading and I will tell you where I got most of the props.

The backdrop is an old picture frame wrapped with wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby.

The skull and table netting came from the Halloween section at Michael's.

The Mardi Gras beads and coins were in Big Sister's stash (and I picked up some of her bangles and dress-up rings too!)

Where are some of your favorite places to shop for fun party props?

Featured Friday: Parties- Mad Hatter's Tea Party

I love how this Mad Hatter's Tea Party turned out.  The girls had so much fun!

The centerpiece is several oversized purple teacups stacked with their green saucers on top of a white cake plate.   I bought mini meringues and mini cupcakes, and stacked them around the centerpiece.  The butterflies and flamingos add a whimsical touch.  The purple "cake stands" are actually upside-down bowls and plates from the same set. I found the tea set and tea pot at World Market as well as the placemats and napkins.

I had a plated the girls lunch and set up a different table for their sweets.  I made raspberry scones, petit fours, and 4 varieties of cookies- Chocolate Chip, Butterscotch, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, and Candy.

The invitations were a simple card design in coordinating purple and green.

This little tea set was my inspiration for the party and the invitations.  I love the miniature size, and I am sure it is something Alice might have found in Wonderland!

The printables used for this party are available in my etsy shop.  You can get them in the Purple and Green Color Scheme or Red and Black!

Featured Friday: Parties- Spa Playdate

Today's Featured Friday is this adorable Spa Playdate!

Big Sister has been begging for a spa themed party for her and her friends, and since I've been looking for something to do to make her feel special since Baby Brother was born, we decided to host a Spa Playdate!

We had lots of activities for the girls and the entire playdate took 6 hours.  In addition to the normal spa activities, the girls decorated flip flops with stick on gems from Oriental Trading, and made their own body glitter (I got the idea from Making Scentz).  I couldn't find clear aloe vera, so it ended up greenish in the bottle, but the color goes away when you rub it on, and all you have left is the glitter!

For lunch I served Turkeys in a Blanket, Peanut Butter Sandwiches cut into hearts, and Chicken Ranch Crackers.  Sweets came from Lilah's Deli & Bakery- yummy cupcakes and cakeballs!  I made sure to serve lunch before the manicures.

I designed all of the invitations, signs, water bottle wraps, cupcake wraps, cupcake toppers, and glitter bottle wraps.  These are all available in my etsy shop.   I printed them at FedEx Kinkos for about $0.53 per sheet!

The goody bags included things we would use at the party like a washcloth, stretchy headbands, ponytails and a hairbrush, as well as lotion, homemade soap, and lip gloss.

The girls had so much fun they can't wait for the next playdate!

Featured Friday: My Favorite Bakery- Lilah's Deli & Bakery- Wedding Cakes

Okay, so I am a bit biased, but I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Wedding Cakes. These wedding cakes are from my favorite bakery- Lilah's Deli & Bakery. I didn't have a cake for my own wedding, but maybe Prince Charming can make us something nice for our 10th Anniversary.
