Tutorials: Linky Tip #1

I am pretty new to the blog world, but I LOVE Link Parties!  I love to share my ideas (don't we all), but I also love to check out all the amazing things everyone else does!  After several weeks of linking up, I had a mess on my hands.  Finding the link I wanted to use typically meant scrolling through lots of links from the week's past.

Before
Does this look familiar?  Getting rid of all those old links was really easy!  Just mouse over the links until you find one you want to delete, select it as if that is the one you are linking to in the party, then click inside the url box anywhere, press your down arrow (that link should come up again), and press delete!

It should look like this before you press delete!

Rinse and Repeat until all you are left with is the links you are currently sharing!

After

The steps are pretty much the same if you are using Linky Tools.

After

This tutorial was created using Firefox.  The steps may be different in another browser.  Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

  1. Those are great ideas. I am a newish blogger too. WHile I have not done a lot of sharing lately I still love linky parties.
The way I solved that issue (or never noticed it) is that I just copy the link that I am sharing and paste in the parties I am doing. I guess that won't work if I am sharing more than one thing.
    So..thanks for the idea:)

  2. Great tip! I never have that problem though. I use Firefox as well. The only time my browser saves my links is if I haven't closed my browser and I am linking up multiple times or ideas. As soon as I close out, it clears my history. I normally just copy my url and paste it in unless I am only linking up 1 idea then I will pick from the drop down box.

Thanks for linking this up to this week's Catch a Glimpse party!

  3. This is so interesting. How do you get your computer to save your links to begin with? Mine doesn't do that - wish it did...especially when I want to link up more than one post. It's a hassle to load it on my blog to copy the links over & over for multiple parties. There has to be an easier way to do it. Thanks for sharing your secrets :)

  4. Interesting. I've always copy/pasted my link from my blog each time I need to, but really this seems much simpler! haha! Thank you for the suggestion! I saw your linky on Serenity Now and wanted to say hi!
